Who we are
Iron Pillar is a workout tracking app for iPhone made by Aidan Dombrowski ("we," "us"). This policy applies to the Iron Pillar app and this website.

We don't use advertising identifiers, third-party analytics, or tracking pixels.
How we use it
- To run your account and the app's features: logging workouts, calculating XP and streaks, awarding badges, and showing your history and progress.
- To recommend workouts based on your goals and the workouts you've done.
- To track outdoor activities and show your route, distance, and pace.
- To connect you with friends you add.
- To verify your email address and help you reset your password.
- To provide Iron Pillar Pro features to subscribers, including AI-generated workout details.
- To respond to support requests and fix bugs.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
What others can see
People you've added as friends can see your name, username, avatar, and activity like workouts you complete, badges you earn, and streak milestones. Your email, birthday, body measurements, routes, and WHOOP data are never shown to other users. Other users can look up your username when adding a friend.
Service providers
We use a small number of companies to run Iron Pillar. They process your information only to provide their service to us.
| Provider | What they do | What they receive |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase | Sign-in, database, file storage, and server functions | All account and app data described above |
| Resend | Sends your email verification code | Your email address and the code |
| Anthropic | Generates workout details for Pro subscribers | The name and exercise list of a custom workout you create. Not your name, email, or other profile data. |
| RevenueCat | Manages Iron Pillar Pro subscriptions | Your account ID and App Store purchase information |
| Apple | Processes App Store payments and provides maps | Purchase details (through your Apple ID) and map areas you view |
| WHOOP | Provides your WHOOP metrics | Only if you connect it; WHOOP shares data with us under your authorization |
| Expo | Delivers app updates | App version and device platform |
We may also share information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a sale or transfer of the app, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.
Location
Iron Pillar uses your location only while an outdoor walk, run, or ride you started is in progress. So tracking keeps working with your phone locked, the app asks for "Always" location access, and iPhone shows a location indicator the whole time. Recording stops when you pause or tap Stop. Your route is saved with that workout in your history. You can turn off location access at any time in your iPhone's Settings; everything except outdoor tracking keeps working.
Health & fitness data
Your workouts, body measurements, and any WHOOP data are used only to provide the app's features to you. We never sell this data, use it for advertising, or share it with data brokers. If you connect WHOOP, you can disconnect it from your Profile at any time, which deletes the access we were granted.
Retention & deletion
We keep your information for as long as you have an account. You can delete your account in the app: open the menu, tap Account Details, then Delete Account. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, workout history, custom workouts, body metrics, badges, friends list, activity feed, and sign-in, and removes you from your friends' lists. Instructions are also on our Support page.
Bug reports you've sent may be kept after your account is deleted so we can finish fixing the problem you reported. Information may remain in routine backups for a limited time before it's overwritten. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription; cancel it in your iPhone's subscription settings.
Your choices & rights
- Access and correction. You can see and edit your profile in the app at any time.
- Deletion. Delete your account in the app, or email us.
- A copy of your data. Email us and we'll send you a copy.
- Permissions. You can turn off location or photo access in your iPhone's Settings.
Depending on where you live, including California and the European Economic Area, you may have additional rights, such as the right to know what we collect, to object to or restrict processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We honor these requests. We don't sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Where the law requires a legal basis, we process your information to provide the service you signed up for, with your consent (for example, location and WHOOP), and for our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and secure.
Children
Iron Pillar isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security & storage
Your data is stored on Google Cloud servers in the United States. Information is encrypted in transit, and access to it is restricted by account-level security rules. Sensitive items like third-party access tokens are only accessible by our servers, never by the app itself. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information. If you live outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
Changes
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll update the effective date above and let you know in the app before the changes take effect.
